Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actor who was famous for her portrayal as the fiery lawyer Teri Joseph in the Showtime show Soul Food. Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai when he was seven, had traveled around the world and experienced many cultures as a child. From the age of seven to nine, the young lady went to boarding school in London. Her family moved to Toronto which she stayed in for most of her childhood. Contractor had a great academic career at the University of Toronto Toronto and also trained as ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts an specialized arts public high school where she not only danced but also studied theatre. Contractor was dancing for more than 10 years when she started, decided she was ready to focus on acting. When she graduated from high-school with an all-inclusive tuition grant to the University of Toronto where she pursued theatre studies with a double degree in psychology and Sociology. Contractor landed her first role following her first year at university. The production she appeared in received acclaim from Canadian theater critics. Contractor accepted an invitation to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. Only eight men selected and four females are admitted to a course of 20 weeks in the classical theatre. Contractor got a place in the next season of shows and eventually landed the role in the role of Hermia as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
